What pitfalls should be avoided when wholesaleing excavator parts
2026-08-25 15:58:58

When doing wholesale of excavator accessories, facing a mixed market of good and bad goods,a slight mistake can easily lead to pitfalls such as mismatched products, substandard products, and after-sales disputes, resulting in inventory backlog and economic losses.Purchasing and wholesale should avoid common pitfalls.

Firstly,be wary of using sub factories to impersonate original factories or OEM products to impersonate branded parts. Many wholesalers claim to be original accessories, but in reality, they are high imitation aftermarket goods. The original parts are clearly engraved, with complete packaging and part numbers;High imitation parts are mostly labeled after installation, and the numbering is easy to scrape off.You can't just look at the appearance when picking up goods, check the OE part number, request authorization from the agent, and obtain the outbound invoice. The so-called'original parts'with prices far below normal market conditions are mostly imitations,so don't be tempted to stock up in large quantities at low prices.

Secondly, guard against the trap of generic specifications. Many accessory titles are labeled as universal for multiple models, but in reality, they only have similar appearances with slight differences in size, splines, threads, and displacement. The same excavator model, different factory batches, and four versions of accessories cannot be interchanged.Wholesale procurement,do not order solely based on the model, try to provide part numbers, focus on checking key dimensions, and avoid receiving large quantities of goods that do not meet specifications, which may cause inventory backlog.

Thirdly,be careful not to replace refurbished parts with brand new ones.Large components such as Hydraulic Pumps, motors, and distribution valves are extensively refurbished and assembled in the market. The exterior is polished and painted to look brand new,but the internal parts are severely worn.Wholesale procurement of large items requires the provision of a factory inspection report to check for any polishing marks on the pump body casing and any scratches on the screws during disassembly and assembly. The price of refurbished parts is significantly low,the warranty period is short, and it is easy for customers to return and claim compensation when taking them back in large quantities.

Fourth, pay attention to the issue of inventory backlog and old goods. Some suppliers have low-priced the backlog of old inventory, seals and rubber parts have been stored for many years and have aged, and filter cartridges have become damp and deteriorated.Rubber accessories should be checked based on the production date to avoid stockpiling goods that have been stored for too long, otherwise they will become invalid before being sold to customers.Confirm the production time of the goods before placing an order, and do not blindly buy low-priced leftover goods.

Fifth, clarify the warranty and return/exchange rules in advance. Many wholesalers make verbal promises of after-sales service when shipping at low prices, but when quality problems arise, they tend to shift the blame.Implement written agreements before receiving large quantities of goods, distinguishing between quality issues and human damage;Clarify how to return or exchange items if they are mistakenly sent or of poor quality.Confirm the warranty period for vulnerable parts, large components, and hydraulic components separately, and do not trust verbal promises. At the same time, pay attention to the minimum order quantity routine, and be forced to purchase excessively in order to take advantage of low prices, resulting in a large number of unsold goods.

Sixth,a small number of trial orders before purchasing in large quantities.New suppliers should not place large orders directly.Instead, they should conduct small-scale trial purchases to inspect quality, size, and delivery accuracy. After confirming reliability, they can expand their procurement volume.Sampling inspection of workmanship, numbering, and size for each batch of goods received, and retention of chat records and outbound documents.

In summary, wholesale of excavator accessories should avoid traps such as impersonating the original factory, false generic, refurbished and new,and old inventory.Adhere to trial orders before bulk delivery, implement specification verification and after-sales agreements,do not blindly pursue low prices, balance quality, price, and risk, and reduce inventory and after-sales losses.
