  The hydraulic Fan Motor is the core executive component of the excavator cooling system.It receives hydraulic oil output from the Fan Pump,converts hydraulic energy into rotating mechanical energy,and directly drives the cooling fan to rotate,providing heat dissipation for the engine water tank and hydraulic oil radiator.Compared to traditional Belt fans,hydraulic fans can achieve stepless speed regulation,and some models have the function of reversing and blowing the radiator,which is widely used in medium and large tonnage excavators.

  Most fan motors are plunger type cycloidal motors,with a few being gear motors.High pressure hydraulic oil enters the motor distribution mechanism,driving the plunger/cycloidal rotor to rotate,and the output shaft drives the fan impeller to rotate.The controller adjusts the flow rate supplied to the motor through the fan pump proportional valve based on the engine water temperature and hydraulic oil temperature,thereby changing the fan speed.Low speed operation at low temperatures to save engine power;Operate at full speed during high temperatures to enhance heat dissipation.

  The structure mainly includes a motor housing,a distribution plate,a rotor,a plunger,an output shaft,bearings,and sealing components.The drain port is used to discharge internal hydraulic oil leakage.The internal friction pair of the motor relies entirely on hydraulic oil lubrication.Under heavy load conditions in mines,the motor runs at high speed for a long time and continues to withstand impact loads;In a dusty environment,the introduction of dust impurities into the fan impeller can also accelerate the wear and tear of bearings and seals.

  Fan motor failure will not trigger a separate fault alarm.Typical phenomena:high water temperature and hydraulic oil temperature,insufficient fan speed;The fan is not turning;The fan speed fluctuates rapidly and slowly;Abnormal noise from motor parts and oil leakage from the casing.Many maintenance personnel prioritize repairing the fan pump and ignore the motor body,resulting in repeated high-temperature faults.Once there is significant internal wear and leakage in the motor,even if the fan pump outputs sufficient flow,the fan will still not reach its rated speed.

  Fan motors are precision hydraulic components with relatively high accessory prices.After internal wear and tear,most assemblies are directly replaced,and it is difficult to restore the original factory fit clearance through regular maintenance.Understanding the working characteristics of fan motors and maintaining hydraulic oil and filter elements can effectively reduce early damage,avoid high-temperature shutdown of the entire machine,and ensure stable equipment construction.
