Belts are consumables and may experience aging,cracking,Tooth loss,elongation,and relaxation as working hours increase.Many operators insist on waiting until the belt breaks before replacing it,which can easily cause high-temperature damage to the engine.Learning to identify various fault phenomena and accurately grasp the replacement nodes can eliminate faults in the bud stage and avoid sudden breakdowns on the construction site.

　　The first sound of abnormal operation.After the engine starts,there is a sharp and piercing"squeaking"sound,and the sound of the fuel door intensifies,mostly due to belt slippage.Slippery is generally caused by belt looseness,rubber hardening,oil on the wheel groove,and failure of the tensioning wheel.If slight slippage is not handled,the belt will be worn out by high temperature in a short period of time,and it will also cause insufficient charging of the generator and high water temperature.

　　The second inspection is to examine the appearance damage.Flipping the belt and observing the inside,small cracks perpendicular to the direction of operation appear,indicating that the rubber has aged;The crack deepens and reaches the inner rope layer,which may break at any time.If the edge of the belt is fuzzy,the wedge-shaped teeth are partially removed,the rubber surface is polished and shiny,and the bulges are delaminated,any of these conditions must be replaced immediately.If the surface of the belt is contaminated with engine oil or diesel,and the rubber is corroded,it should be replaced even if there are no cracks.

　　The third check is the tightness and tension.After using the newly installed belt for a period of time,it will be stretched and the tensioner has reached its limit position.The tensioning arm has reached its end and cannot continue to compensate for the tension,indicating that the belt has been stretched and failed.Continuing to use it will inevitably cause slippage.Manually press the middle of the belt,the sagging amount far exceeds the manufacturer's standard.After adjustment,it quickly becomes loose again and needs to be replaced directly.

　　It is also necessary to distinguish between damage to the belt itself and faults in the wheel system.The belt is frequently damaged.Do not just replace the belt repeatedly.Check whether the tension pulley,Idler Pulley,Water Pump fan bearing are stuck,and whether the belt pulley groove is worn or deformed.The wheel system is misaligned and the wheels are worn out.Even the best new belt will quickly wear out.

　　Never continue working while sick.If the belt breaks,the water pump fan will immediately stop running,and the engine will experience high temperatures within a few minutes.In mining and high temperature and high dust conditions,the inspection cycle of the belt should be shortened.Even if it appears to be intact,preventive replacement is necessary as the rubber will naturally age.Don't bet that the belt won't break halfway.
