When replacing excavator Belts,it is not enough to place an order based solely on the similarity in appearance and length. There are many belts on the market with different numbers of wedges and circumferences of the same appearance.Choosing the wrong one may result in failure to install, insufficient tensioning stroke, slipping and jumping teeth, and rapid wear.Priority should be given to referring to the original OE part number for procurement selection, followed by checking the type, number of wedges, and circumference, and comparing them with the actual old parts to ensure perfect compatibility with the equipment.
Firstly, confirm the engine model, rather than just looking at the excavator tonnage.Excavators of the same tonnage are equipped with different engines and belt specifications for different factory batches.Prioritize searching for the model parameters engraved on the old belt, with a focus on confirming the PK wedge number and circumference for multi wedge belts. For example,6PK1620 represents 6 wedge teeth with an effective circumference of 1620 millimeters;Confirm the model and inner circumference of the V-belt.If the handwriting on the old belt is worn off,it is necessary to actually measure the circumference, width, and thickness.
Distinguish between triangular belts and multi wedge serpentine belts, the two cannot be replaced by each other. The snake shaped multi wedge belt is driven by a single belt to drive all accessories, with a complex route. It is necessary to confirm the arrangement path of the tension wheel, idler wheel, and each working wheel. Some models have multiple independent V-belts,and several belts must have the same specifications. They cannot be mixed old or new,or different brands mixed, otherwise the force will be unbalanced and a single belt will be overloaded and quickly damaged.
Simultaneously consider the working conditions and select material grades.Regular EPDM EPDM rubber belt is selected for ordinary earthwork site, which is resistant to temperature and aging and can meet daily use.Mining and continuous long-term heavy load operations, with high environmental temperatures and large dust, should choose original factory or first-line industrial grade belts as much as possible, which have stronger tensile and high temperature resistance and reduce frequent replacement.Avoiding low-priced belts made of recycled rubber can cause cracking and delamination in the short term.
When purchasing online or in bulk,it is necessary to take photos of the front and back of the old belt and record the structure of the wheel system. Also pay attention to inventory aging goods.Rubber parts stored for more than three years will age even if they are not loaded onto the vehicle.Check the production date when receiving the goods.Be careful not to make do with the selection,as the belt is too short and the tensioning wheel cannot be installed even when pressed to the bottom; The belt is too long, and the tensioner still loosens and slips after running out of travel.Choosing the right specifications and models is a prerequisite for the long-term stable operation of the belt.
